A Director of Smith McCoy Alford since 2004, Kate has over 15 years of accounting and commercial experience. This has included 3 years in the Business Advisory Unit of a big four Chartered Accountancy firm before moving into the private sector as a Group Financial Controller for a large Christchurch company.

Kate specialises in Business Advisory Services and has developed a very diverse client base, consisting of mainly small to medium sized businesses covering a broad range of industry groups.

Shane brings over 20 years experience in helping develop businesses to reach their true potential. Bevan specialises in tax planning and structuring covering all aspects of direct and indirect taxation in New Zealand. Bevan’s experience extends to providing pro-active advice to assist clients with ever-changing compliance issues, helping to ensure that business structures continue to meet client objectives in terms of both flexibility and tax minimisation.

Bevan frequently advises clients on the taxation aspects of business sales or purchases, property transactions and succession plans. Bevan’s also acts for clients migrating to and from New Zealand, or operating in the international business arena.
